About Us

Over 50 years ago, a child appeared on the general aviation scene at a DC Metro area airport. An encouraging father sent him out first his flight at age 12. A few years later, training started and at age 16, the boy took his first solo flight. Shortly after, he found the logical ends of his finances and spent years away from aviation. In 2008, he reappeared with a little money and more passion than ever! Secure in the knowledge that small fortunes on general aviation are started with bigger and dwindling fortunes, he decided to build this enterprise not on making a monetary fortune, but instead on finding new friends and maybe picking-up a few extra dollars along the way.

Our Enterprise

Fatman's Aviation Surplus has a simple objective: We seek to find new homes for serviceable parts that keep your airplane airworthy and operational. Our inventory consists of a vast array of items that are sourced from friends (old and new) that were not utilized, along with pieces “The Fatman” recovered along the way.

Our guiding principles:

  • We strive to provide a quality product for a reasonable price.

  • We believe operating in the daylight. What we know is what you should know. That's why we work to provide information on every product before shipping.

  • We seek to enhance the general aviation community.
